Howdy lovlies,

So, the second product that I’ll be reviewing from my October Favourites, is Dr Lipp, Original Nipple Balm For Lips.

So, this is another product that I had seen floating around the blogosphere which had peaked my interest. I first saw it on Fashion For Lunch’s blog, and was intrigued. Don’t be put off by the name, however a couple of people at work that saw it at my desk also raised an eyebrow! The formula is inspired by nipple balm used for women who are breast feeding, so it’s extra moisturising.

I get such dry lips, especially in this weather, so this was definitely something I wanted to try. I bought it from Cult Beauty , it was £11.50 plus £3.95 P & P, which was quite pricy, but I thought I’d treat myself. It came quite quickly, but when I opened it up, I was a bit disappointed with quite how small it was! Probably about the length of my finger.

As you can see from the picture above, it’s quite a thick texture, and beware it’s very sticky! So, when you put it on with your finger, it’s hard to then get the residue off.

In conclusion, this is kind of a weird one. I do really like this product, but the price kind of puts me off wanting to buy it again, for such a small size. I’ll just have to make this last as long as possible!

Has anyone tried this before? Did you like it? Or are you thinking about purchasing? Let me know! :)

I got this is two of my beauty box subscriptions. I felt the same as you thick, sticky and quite odd. I feel that there are better products out there, I get really dry lips and can’t stand stickiness. It’s not for me :(

Great post though, I love your background, I need something more interesting for mine, but I my material box is at the bottom of a stack, so is a husband job! xx

Yeah, it’s a weird formula, and if you don’t like stickiness it’s definitely not for you! Haha! I do like the results though, so it probably will last me a while as I don’t like putting it on my finger! :D

Thanks so much, between you and me, it’s just one of my tops that I love the pattern of ;) xo

  2. I haven’t tried either but maybe lanolips would be cheaper as lanolin is what the ingredient that the product is names after and originally used for, I’ve been ranching the lemon lanolips let you know if I do

  3. I’ve heard good things about this and when I first saw you’d blogged about it I thought I’d have a look at it but then I saw the price for the size and decided otherwise. I find Vaseline Rosy Lips works fine for me, but I imagine you may have tried that already?

Yeah it is nice, but it’s just so tiny for the price! I normally stick with my Carmex, trusty Carmex! :)

Surprisingly I’m actually not a massive fan of Vaseline! Will only use it if I have exhausted all other lip care options! ;)

      Thanks for commenting xo

Wow it seems pretty expensive for the size of it! I’m still intrigued just to give it a go because of the hype x

  7. Thanks for the review! I think i’m going to stick with my lanolips for now (I want the banana one!) x

I got this is in a Red Magazine goodie bag and I am also really unsure. It is such a thick consistency and soooo sticky! I always end up putting a different product in my make up bag as the stickiness put me off. Also I thought mine was a sample size and I see now it isn’t. You don’t get much for your money do you! X

Hm yeah I still like it, but it’s such a pain to get on I sometimes pick other products instead! Haha, yeah I know what you mean! Nope, not a sample size! You’d think that, but actually it’s lasted me quite a while surprisingly!! xo

  10. […] it’s really working into your lips. It isn’t sticky though like I experienced with the Dr Lipp’s Nipple Balm for Lips and it’s not shiny like my trusty Carmex. It disappears into the lips so you’re not […]
